Santa Volunteer

Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity has the amazing opportunity to have Santa's Grotto in Silverburn from 21st November – 24th December where families will give a donation to see Santa.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to step into Santa’s boots for a half-day shift (10am to 2pm or 3pm to 7pm) on which dates they’re available. A full PVG check is required for this role which will be done through Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity if taken forward.

Volunteer Support Information

Induction & Training

  • All volunteers receive a full induction before their first shift.
  • Training includes:
    • Health & safety procedures for the event
    • Basic cash handling procedures
    • Customer service guidance for interacting with supporters

Supervision & Onsite Support

  • Each shift has a Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity staff member present.
  • Volunteers are always supported while on duty—whether it’s their first or fifth shift.
  • Help is on hand to deal with any unexpected issues or questions from the public.
