Flamingo Beach is back at Silverburn Shopping Centre this Summer!

The beach will be open daily from Friday 20 June to Sunday 24 August, and we’re looking for enthusiastic weekend volunteers to help us bring the beach to life! If you enjoy working with families and want to be part of something special this summer, we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteer Tasks

  • Welcome families to the beach and collect entry fees
  • Support children and families to ensure everyone is safe and happy
  • Staff the small retail space beside the beach, selling themed merchandise
  • Help maintain a positive and fun atmosphere for all visitors

Shift Times

  • 9:30am to 1:30pm
  • 1:30pm to 5:00pm
  • Weekend shifts only (Saturday and/or Sunday)

Volunteer Support Information

Training includes:

  • Health & safety procedures for the Flamingo Beach area
  • Handling entry fees and basic cash procedures
  • Customer service guidance for interacting with families
  • Retail setup for merchandise sales

Supervision & Onsite Support

  • Each shift has a GCHC staff member or experienced lead volunteer present.
  • Volunteers are always supported while on duty—whether it’s their first or fifth shift.
  • Help is on hand to deal with any unexpected issues or questions from the public
