Myla's Story

Myla 106 mile challengeYoung heart warrior Myla completed our Stride the Clyde challenge last June, raising a fantastic £1,300 for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity!

At just 3 weeks old, Myla was rushed to the Royal Hospital for Children after suffering heart failure. It was later discovered she was living with several undiagnosed congenital heart defects.

She underwent her first open heart surgery 3 days later, and spent time in PICU and Ward 1E. Due to her other heart defects, Myla has spent the past 5 years needing regular procedures and monitoring of her heart.

On November 10th 2023, Myla's heart was mended in her longest surgery yet.

Myla's Mum, Rachael, told us:

"Myla went through her 14 hour open heart surgery where Dr Noonan, Professor Danton and their teams worked their magic not without some challenges along the way."

"What a journey we have had but Myla takes it all in her stride and makes everyone so proud."
