The Walton Foundation: Supporting the Future of Children's Healthcare

22 May 2025 Waltons

Dr David and Carole Walton are passionate about making a difference in children's health. As trustees of the Walton Foundation, they have supported a wide range of causes, from universities to care homes, with a strong focus on medical and research projects.

Over the past two years, the Walton Foundation has generously donated a significant sum to Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, helping improve care for young patients. During a recent visit to Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children, David, himself born prematurely, was particularly moved by the neonatal unit.

“What a wonderful unit, if we are able to support, then we will.”

The Waltons’ support has already made an impact, funding virtual tours to help patients and families feel more at ease before a hospital stay. After touring the hospital, they were highly impressed, stating,

“Everything the hospital is doing is vital.”

The Walton Foundation’s commitment to giving back is inspired by David’s father, who believed in sharing his wealth for the greater good. Now, David and Carole continue that legacy, highlighting that support isn’t just financial.

“Volunteering means just as much as writing a cheque and we would encourage anyone to consider supporting Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity in any way they can.”
