Siobhan’s Legacy of Love, a charitable fund established in memory of beloved Scottish rugby international Siobhan Cattigan, has now raised over £63,000 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

The milestone came following an annual fundraising event held in Siobhan’s hometown of Callander, Siobhan’s Legacy of Love Fundraising Day, which collected more than £1,300 for the trust last month – taking the complete fundraising total over £63,000. The event, which was attended by family and friends, is held annually in Ancaster Square and saw performances to a busy and bustling crowd from the Callander Pipe Band, the Callander Brass Band, and Liz Campbell’s School of Dance - a group which Siobhan was an active member of as a child.

“We are so fortunate to live in a community which holds Siobhan close to their hearts. The organisers, dancers, musicians, helpers and volunteers have raised the magnificent sum of £1,392.10 from generous donations to Siobhan’s Legacy of Love. Thank you all.”

The news comes after a fantastic year of fundraising for Siobhan’s Legacy of Love, including an online raffle that raised over £1,730 in partnership with the Glasgow Warriors and Skerryvore back in April, as well as an impressive collection at Murrayfield last December which raised nearly £2,000.

Founded in 2022 by the friends and family of Siobhan Cattigan, Siobhan’s Legacy of Love honours the memory of the Scotland international rugby player who proudly earned 19 caps for her country. Proceeds from the fund have helped children with complex health conditions from across Scotland access hippotherapy, which supports physical and mental health through the sensory and motor stimulation of horse-riding.

“We are truly honoured to benefit from the tireless commitment and generosity of Siobhan’s family and friends. It's an outstanding achievement to have surpassed such a landmark amount and a wonderful reflection of Siobhan’s deep commitment to helping others. The impact of Siobhan's Legacy of Love continues to flourish, with more children each month benefitting from the funds raised. We remain deeply grateful for everyone who so generously donates to the fund."
