Growing Breastfeeding: Rooted in Connection
Date: Friday 19th September
Time: 9am – 4:30pm
Venue: The Technology and Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde, 99 George Street, Glasgow G1 1RD
This event aims to celebrate the programmes of work currently underway across NHSGGC that have improved breastfeeding outcomes for women and children.
Through presentations, workshops, and discussions, we will explore how collaborative, culturally sensitive, and woman-centred care can drive real change in infant feeding outcomes.
A key focus of the day will be addressing inequalities - particularly among women living in SIMD 1 and 2 areas, young mothers under 20, and women for whom English is not a first language. We'll examine how inclusive, targeted, and accessible approaches can help close the gap and promote equity in breastfeeding support.
Collectively, we can build stronger connections, improve care pathways, and break down barriers - ensuring no woman is left behind on her feeding journey.
