Echocardiography in Paediatric Congenital Heart Disease

cardiology ward

Booking for this course has now closed.

The course offers an overview of the most relevant topics in Paediatric Echocardiography.

The course takes place from Wednesday 24 to Saturday 27 April, 2024, at the Teaching & Learning Centre, QEUH Campus, Glasgow, G51 4TF. The optional course dinner organised at the end of day two is always a great opportunity to socialise, meet new colleagues and enjoy an evening outing in Glasgow.

The programme includes two days of lectures and case studies, followed by a further one and a half days of practical hands-on tutorials when attendees will learn to perform Echocardiography with volunteer paediatric patients and work on an Echocardiographic simulator.

During some practical sessions candidates will also be offered demonstration of three dimensional models of complex congenital cardiac lesions.

The Course Faculty includes Consultants in Paediatric Cardiology, Consultant in Neonatology and Senior Cardiac Physiologists holding European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging accreditation in Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography.

This course does not presume any prior Congenital or Paediatric Echocardiography experience, although those with a background in Echocardiography will find it much easier to follow.
