Euan's Cause: 13 years of Community Fundraising

29 June 2025 Euan 1

For the past 13 years, Robert and Nicola Clark have been dedicated to fundraising in memory of their beloved son, Euan. Through the unwavering support of family, friends, and their local community, the Clarks have raised over £150,000 for ‘Euan’s Cause’, with every penny going directly to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. In 2025 alone, an incredible £20,000 has been raised, thanks to a jam-packed calendar of events celebrating Euan’s life.

Remembering Euan

Euan’s Dad, Robert, shares:

“Euan was born with a rare heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. After numerous open-heart surgeries, procedures & medicines, Euan sadly passed away in PICU at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle on the 27th of April 2012, aged just 18 months. He was urgently waiting on a Heart Transplant which sadly didn’t come in time.

Euan 3“Euan spent some of his short life in Glasgow Children’s Hospital and received the best care possible. The hospital became his home away from home, and we can't praise the support staff, specialists, doctors and nurses enough for the care and attention Euan and our family were given.

“Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity were very supportive throughout the most difficult time in our lives. From day one, we promised to raise as much as we could in Euan’s name to support other families who might go through what we have.

Euan 2“Fundraising is now such a big part of our lives, and we hope that in time, Euan’s brother and sister, Lyle and Libby, will carry it forward.”

“The fact that Euan's name is still remembered gives our family great joy and pride.”

‘A Team effort’

“Our golf and football events have been our top fundraisers over the years, but we have done everything such as Tough Mudders, Skydives, Bike Rides, Kiltwalks, Race Nights, Boat Tours and more, and each event is so special for everyone involved.

Euan 5“Euan’s Cause is a team effort. None of this would be possible without the help of family, friends, and local businesses working behind the scenes. The continued support from our community is truly overwhelming and inspires us to keep going!”
