Derek and Julie McEwan

Ambassadors

Derek and Julie McEwan have been long standing supporters of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, and have been pivotal in increasing awareness and funds for children who are treated and cared for at the hospital who are suffering from Crohn’s and Colitis.

Derek is the Founder of the Catherine McEwan Foundation, an organisation set up in 2003 in memory of Derek’s late mother Catherine who sadly passed away from Crohn’s disease in 1991 following a long and difficult battle with the disease.

Since then, Derek and Julie and the extended Catherine McEwan Foundation family have gone on to raise over £800,000 to fund ground breaking research into the disease and to support children and their families suffering from the condition.

Derek, a Director of Aims Media and Julie, an Events Director with Colours both offer a wealth of business and entrepreneurial experience and are committed to the vision of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

In addition to their high profile fundraising endeavours, the couple work closely with the IBD team at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow and annually organise a family day for children and their families who are suffering from the disease.
