Bob Tomlinson

Bob is an award winning journalist in both print and broadcast media, and a founding member of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Bob’s awards in print journalism include UK and Scottish awards, Campaigning Journalist of the Year, Reporter of the Year and joint winner of the Journalist of the Year Award for Scotland.

In broadcast he won awards from the former Soviet Union for his investigation into the Holocaust in the Balkans, Belorussia, and Ukraine. For the same investigation the Mayor of Jerusalem named him as ‘blessed’ and a tree has been planted in his name in Jerusalem. He won an award at the New York International Film and Television Awards for investigative journalism

Bob has served either on the board or as an advisor to several children’s charities including CHAS, Capability Scotland and Yorkhill Children’s Foundation – with which he served for more than 50 years as a volunteer. Bob is also a trustee of the Weaver’s Society of Anderston.

Bob has served for three years as head of Europe for Rotary International’s public relations group, and then three years as deputy head of the public relations group of Rotary International Worldwide.

He and his wife Maggie are long distance walkers, are in several choirs, and are involved in local and international charities. They have three children and ten grandchildren.
