When Lucas was born, he was diagnosed with kidney failure – a life-long, life-limiting condition. Early childhood was very different for Lucas. Life was ruled by dialysis. He saw his nurses more than his friends.

For over two years, Lucas made the long journey from Perth to Glasgow with his family. Multiple times. Every week. For Lucas, he couldn’t go swimming, he couldn’t stay at his Granny’s and he couldn’t go to nursery.

A kidney transplant changed his life. And he’s not alone. Every day, over 500 children require specialist care at the children’s hospital in Glasgow, just like they did at Yorkhill.

You can help little ones like Lucas.

In hospital, life can change in a moment

Today, more than 500 more children will need your help. As they approach the hospital for the first time or the last time, we’ll walk through those doors together – with your hand in theirs.

Scotland’s families in hospital deserve the very best and with your continued support, we can be there for them during their hardest days.
