Nicholas McDonald

Eighteen year old Nicholas was a finalist on X Factor in 2013. Hailing from Motherwell, Lanarkshire, Nicholas has signed with RCA Records and this year released his debut album. Nicholas suffers from the rare heart condition Long QT syndrome, and almost died when he was eight. Nicholas spent time as a patient on the Cardiology Ward at Yorkhill.

Kelly Macdonald

Actress

Kelly Macdonald is an award-winning actress who has appeared in Trainspotting, Nanny McPhee, Gosford Park, No Country for Old Men and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two. Kelly provided the voice for Princess Merida in Brave. She won an Emmy for The Girl in the Café and she can currently be seen as Margaret Thompson in HBO's Boardwalk Empire.

Barry and Kirsteen Cook

Barry, a Vice President at Barclays, and his wife Kirsteen are the parents of our Young Ambassador, Jenny Cook, and her brother Alex. Barry and Kirsteen are delighted to be Family Ambassadors for the Charity, and are always keen to help support other parents and families who have babies and children receiving care and treatment at the children's hospital.

Gerry Hughes

Solo Circumnavigator, Sailor, Adventurer

Gerry Hughes is from Glasgow and was the first deaf yachtsman to solo circumnavigate the world via the Five Great Capes. This solo circumnavigation is considered to be the most challenging of all the possible routes, and is the only one that allows entry to Sir Robin Knox-Johnston’s elite list of solo circumnavigators. More people have been into space than have successfully completed this route.

Anne Marie Heuchan

Consultant Neonatologist, The Royal Hospital for Children and Queen Elizabeth University Hospitals.

Anne Marie Heuchan is a Paediatrician specialising in the care of the newborn. Anne Marie works exclusively with babies born prematurely or with complex problems requiring the specialist medical and surgical care provided at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.

Haytham says: “I see first-hand the impact that Glasgow Children's Hospital has and am delighted to be an official Ambassador for the charity. Without the support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity a lot of the services and equipment that are available, would not exist.”

Gordon Strachan OBE

Manager, Scotland National Football Team

Gordon has visited children and families in the children's hospital on many occasions throughout the years, helping to bring a bit of comfort and joy to their time spent in hospital. Gordon knows the difference that can be made through organisations such as Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, and is delighted to be able to support the organisation.
