Our Easter Egg Run is back!
For more than four decades, thousands of families have enjoyed this incredible event where hundreds of bikers ride through the streets of Glasgow in a mile-long convoy of colour, noise, and smiles in support of our young patients.
If you're a motorcycle enthusiast then we'd love for you to join us for this special event.
There is no registration fee but we ask every biker to make a suggested donation of £10 on arrival to support our young patients at the hospital.
Fundraise at our Easter Egg Run
If you'd like to take part in this year's Easter Egg Run, please consider raising sponsorship rather than bringing chocolate Easter Eggs. As many of our patients are on special diets or are "nil by mouth", they are unable to enjoy confectionary gifts.
An easy way to fundraise is by setting up a Facebook Fundraiser and asking all your friends and family to sponsor you for taking part!
Financial donations mean that we can continue to fund state-of-the-art medical equipment, family support services and innovative play programmes to support our young patients, their families and the NHS heroes caring for them.
The Easter Egg Run Route
The Easter Egg Run will start at Greendyke Street, round to Saltmarket and onto Clyde Street before progressing along the Broomielaw and over the Squinty Bridge.
The bikes will then make their way down Govan Road to the Royal Hospital for Children where the children and their families will be able to witness the impressive convoy!
After leaving Hospital Boulevard it will turn onto Hardgate Road, before going down Shieldhall Road and onto Kings Inch Drive, finishing up at Braehead Shopping Centre Car Park next to Krispy Kreme.
Road markings on the route:
We want to ensure that bikers are aware of some additional road markings in place on the route since previous years:
- As you turn onto the Broomielaw, just off the Saltmarket, please be aware of the new cycle lane markings which have been put in place, as well as traffic islands.
- At some points along the route, the procession may need to go into single file so please follow the direction of the Police Scotland Motorcycle Team and our Marshals who are in place to ensure everyone is safe.
Family Fun Day
No bike? Join us at Braehead Shopping Centre (near Next Home) from 11am and welcome the parade as they approach the finish point where we'll have a family fun day.
Activities will include: - A chance to welcome the parade and see all the costumes
- Live entertainment
- Glitter Station
