Head of Marketing, SEC
Sean Murray is Head of Marketing at the Scottish Event Campus, or SEC which includes the SSE Hydro. A native of Glasgow, Sean has managed the branding and marketing for major festivals, events and bids, destination and venue marketing for various high-profile projects.
In the position for over 11 years, Sean is responsible for B2B marketing for Live Entertainment, Conferences and Exhibitions in addition to websites; social media; ticketing sales and brand management of the SEC and SSE Hydro. Prior to this, Sean delivered the Back the Bid campaign for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Bid.
Sean’s history across festivals and events started with the marketing of Glasgow 1999: UK City of Architecture and Design, a position which then led to his role in delivering a program of major event-led tourism for Glasgow City Council. The festivals created and supported during this project include the Glasgow Film Festival, Glasgow Comedy Festival and Merchant City Festival.
Sean is a regular contributor across various universities across branding, event and destination marketing.
Sean lives in Glasgow’s west end with his wife and daughter, and enjoys travelling, eating out and loves a live event.
